2.2.10.1. Settings Command

Description: Give access to system setting screen.
The actual system version support basically two settings types: general and network. The general settings include selecting updates color receiving data and sound effects options. The Network settings are optional settings, as communication port and administrative tasks.
System Settings Screen
General setting is about visual effects receiving data. When Excel receive any update through BD.ALIAS function, its possible configure, also for cell's background as for text color, the colors which will be presented through this update.
To indicate the updating colors, select the equivalent option in Visual Effects section. To choose the background color, click on the color in list. Do the same for the text color. Its possible too set the time which the cell will be modified. The updates simulator will show a selection preview.
Some comments about visual effects. When a cell receive the information ??? (version 1.0.4 and older) or ?..? (version 1.0.5) (server not found), the updating effects will not be applied, since it is not common occur ??? (version 1.0.4 and older) or ?..? (version 1.0.5). Also, if exist a big list of tasks to perform by Excel, the system will suspend visual effects. This will increase the system performance and grant fastest tasks execution. The system also have a limit for updates which above it does not apply visual effects. Again, the intention is to increase the performance of the system.
Sometimes, the visual effect time in one cell its bigger than the waited. This may occur in the moments that the Excel block this effects, as it is the case, for example, in editing cells and formulas. When it happens, the cell remains more time with the visual effect. In the normal functioning and without interruptions or rejections of the Excel, the cell remains with the visual effect only the configured time.
The other general settings option is about songs. The system allows to use sound alerts when a update its lost or rejected in by Excel status or when a new update its received. Fits to user decide which set of sounds will be used.
The option Save settings as default makes with the marked options are valid for the next Real Time Excel Network start.
The option Show toolbar allows to show or not the Broadcaster toolbar.
System Settings Screen
The operational settings allows network changes. And there is two settings: Network type and optimization speed.
The network type relation with the communication port used by CoRTEx. The system allows to set up 10 settings or different network types. If one type cannot be initiated cause the port equivalent to that type already is in use, a new type can be selected. Otherwise, also is possible create up to 10 CoRTEx differents and parallel in a same workstation.
When a work station establishes a type of network through an instance of the Excel, creates it network for this type. The others workstations will be capable to communicate with this station if they will be using the same type of network. Although all the instances of the Excel in a computer to be represented in the net for the name of the computer, are possible to create several (up to 10) nets between the computers.
For example, the computer A initiates the ALPHA network through the A1 instance of the Excel. It also initiates the A2 instance of the Excel with the type of network BETA. The computer A also initiates one third A3 instance of the Excel with the type BETA for CoRTEx. As a computer B initiates the B1 instance of the Excel and uses the network BETA for CoRTEx. The B1 instance of computer B alone will be capable of if communicating with the instances A2 and A3 of the computer A. The A1 instance is using one another type of network and it is not visible for the computers that use another type. If computer B to create a B2 instance of the Excel with the ALPHA type, this instance will obtain to receive and to transmit given only for the A1 instance of the computer A.
In resume, CoRTEx parallel are independent, same that in the same workstation!
Important:
A computer can have up to 10 CoRTEx!

The installation default is the ALPHA network. Use of the same type of network in all is always advised to it the instances of the Excel, being the use of the too much types restricted the problems of communication in the ALPHA port type or in the specific Excel applications.
The optimization options allows the user to define the level for administrative tasks over transmitted data. How much more tasks the system do, faster it is the system answer to user updates that involve receiving or sending data. In example, when the user erase a transmission formula, the system take some time to perceive this modification. This time is bigger when the optimization level is low and lesser when the level is high. Counterpart, a high optimization level takes more resources from workstation. We advise to use the medium level to normal system working.
