2. USAGE
2.1. Excel Behavior
The BROADCASTER is innovative therefore it implements - in a not complicated form - a real time data-network using the same format of know functions from Microsoft Excel and without any other macro or server programming.
On this way, the add-in is composed with a transmission function and a data receiving function. As well a set of configurations.
Now will be detailed how to use each function and configure the system.
In the system are available functions for spread sheets and commands in the menu or toolbar. This system does not use functions or programming modules.
The available functions in spread sheets are locate in the function assistant category:
Category: Broadcaster
All functions available in the spread sheets have its names initiated with the following abbreviation contend 2 (two) letters and followed of a point of separation (form: XX.).
Abbreviation: BD. (from BroaDcaster)
To find a spread sheet function function_name, search for BD.function_name.
The way to include functions for the spread sheets is the same of other functions and it will not be detailed. All the functions of spread sheets will be described as functions only.
The execution commands are functionalities available only in menu or toolbar and will be described as commands only.
2.1. Excel Behavior
After installing the product, will be included some characteristics in Microsoft Excel that will support it.
Will be included a function category in the function assistant:
Category: Broadcaster
This category will hold all BD.function_name functions.
A new menu will be included in the menu bar of Microsoft Excel:
Menu: Broadcaster
This menu gives access to the commands of the add-in and other information.
A new toolbar will be included in Microsof Excel:
ToolBar: Broadcaster
This bar will contain shortcuts for some commands of the menu. Its behavior will be the same of others toolbars.
