1. INSTALATTION

• Operational System: Windows 2000 or Windows Xp
• The system was not tested in Windows 95 or Windows 98, but it does not have problems in this versions.
• Microsoft Excel installed with the versions: Excel 2000 or Excel XP
• The system was not tested in Excel 97 and Excel 95 (ou oldest). However, it does not have problems with Excel 97.
• Memory: Minimum of 128 MB ¹
• Free Disk Space: 10 MB²
• Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape installed ³

¹ The amount of total memory of the computer influences in the speed of update of data and in the performance of the system as a whole.
² The total disk space affects the absolut dimensions to some calculus. Although installing will not rquire a bigger space, we advise to set up a big space to allow virtual memory use by the operational system.
³ Allows access for the manual and help of the system that are available in the internet.

The system comes encapsulated in a executable file for installation of requirements.
To get the file, download directly from Élin Duxus website or enter direclty in contact with Élin Duxus.

where * represents the product version. In example, CALCULUS1_0.exe for version 1.0.

This executable file contains a installation system as well all the necessary files to the correct add-in working.
To begin installation process, click in Start on Windows taskbar and to follow click in Run.
Type the directory where the installation file is placed or click in Browse to find the file and select it.
Click in OK and the installation will be started.
Follow the instructions and recommendations presented during the process.

For manual installation of the add-in (version 1.0 only)

At the end of the installation, may be necessary install the system inside Microsoft Excel so that it is loaded automatically.
The add-in is composed by a file in format ".xll", that corresponds to the format of add-in developed with C/C++ for Microsoft Excel.
The system installation follows the same recommendations for add-ins installation on Microsoft Excel.

The corresponding file to the add-in is in the installation directory.
Usually: C:\Program Files\Duxus\Calculus

Open Microsoft Excel.
Go to Tools menu and select Add-ins.
A window containing the available Excel add-ins will be presented.
Click in Browse to find and select the file which contains the system.
After finding the file, click in OK.

Now in the available add-ins list we will have the name for the add-in added by the system.

If the checkbox beside the name of the add-in is unchecked, check it.
Select OK to close the add-ins selection window.

After closing the add-in selection window, will be presented a screen containing inicial information, and the license terms of use and responsibilities.
Select OK to accept the terms.

In case of first installation of the add-in, a window for use authorization will open. Follow the instructions on this window like instructions followed during download.

To uninstall system, the process must be divided in two steps:
1) remove the add-in from Microsoft Excel; and
2) uninstall system;

The process for removing the add-in is the same for any Microsoft Excel add-in.

Open Microsoft Excel.
Go to Tools and select Add-ins.
A window containing the available Excel add-ins will be presented.
Identify the add-in by its correspondent name.
Uncheck the box that appears beside the add-in name.
Select OK to close the add-ins selection window.
A window to confirm removing will be opened. Select OK.
The add-in was removed and will not be more possible use its functions.

The second step is the complete system uninstall. To uninstall, run the install again and select remove.

After the steps above, the system is completely uninstalled from computer.
